Clear the dance floors; E! News reported late yesterday that the girl group that defined dance floors with hits like “Dont Cha” and “Buttons” (both of which still pack a floor to this day) are getting back together; all arrows are pointing to The Pussycat Dolls finally reuniting.
One of the leading girl groups of the 2000’s is scheduled to perform at The U.K. X Factor: Celebrity finale this Saturday, November 30. Judge Louis Walsh apparently is the person who brokered the deal to have the ladies return in such a massive fashion. “The Pussycat Dolls are the guest,” he said, according to The Daily Mail. “There’s an exclusive for you.”
The Mail reports that producers approached Scherzinger with the reunion idea and “she jumped at the chance” to get back on stage with her fellow Dolls. Their source went on to say, “It’s going to be their first big performance of the reunion and will be extra special for Nicole because of her role in the show” (Scherzinger is a judge on the across the pond reality show).
The ladies had been hinting at a reunion for quite some time. Bandmate Ashley Roberts said earlier this year that the girls had been “reminiscing about the good old days”, while Scherzinger herself said simply that she “wouldn’t rule out” a reunion and that she “missed” performing with the rest of the ladies.
As we are now on what seems the precipice of a brand new era of The Pussycat Dolls, here’s one of their most underrated remixes, Dave Aude’s brilliant mix of their follow up to the massive summer smash “Dont Cha”, titled “Stickwitu”.
