Documentary Manhood gets up close and personal with penis enlargement. So is bigger really better, or we dealing with something much deeper than a few inches.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the bedroom: penis size. Whether it’s locker-room comparisons, thirst traps, or those suspiciously confident men on social media, the pressure to measure up is real. And now, a new documentary called Manhood is taking us inside the world of penis enlargement, exploring just how far some men are willing to go for a little extra length and girth, as first reported by IndieWire.

Size Matters, or Does It?

Social media has made it easier than ever to discover ways to change our bodies. From cosmetic procedures to the bizarre ballsmaxxing trend, in which some men inject saline into their scrotums to temporarily increase their size, the pursuit of physical perfection has certainly entered some interesting territory.

And the penis? Naturally, it’s part of the conversation.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the average erect penis measures around five inches. But knowing the average doesn’t necessarily stop anyone from wanting more. Pills, vacuum pumps, and surgical procedures all promise different possibilities, while newer cosmetic treatments are making male enhancement increasingly visible.

Enter Manhood, which explores Dallas entrepreneur Bill Moore’s PhaloFILL procedure, a nonsurgical approach to penis enhancement that uses injectable filler to increase girth. Moore hopes to make the treatment as routine as getting Botox. But when the subject is something as personal as your package, the stakes can be considerably higher than a few extra units of filler.

Bigger Packages, Bigger Questions

Directed by Daniel Lombroso, the documentary follows men who put their bodies and expectations on the line in pursuit of enhancement. Among them are an OnlyFans star and a father of five, whose experiences reveal that the decision doesn’t end when the procedure is over.

As first reported by IndieWire, the film examines the emotional complications that can follow these treatments, digging into the shame and insecurity that can fuel the desire to change one’s body in the first place.

Lombroso spent two years inside male enhancement clinics while making the documentary, connecting the pursuit of a bigger penis to a broader culture of toxic masculinity and the manosphere. Because apparently, even your downstairs department isn’t safe from society’s expectations.

But beneath the cheeky subject matter lies a more complicated question: how much of this desire comes from personal preference, and how much comes from feeling like you’re not enough?

When the Lights Come On

Produced with executive producers including Penny Lane, Sheila Nevins, and World of Wonder’s Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, Manhood promises a mix of humor, heart, and uncomfortable truths.

The documentary opens at the Laemmle NoHo in Los Angeles on October 28 and the Village East by Angelika in New York on October 30, followed by a nationwide theatrical release. Digital platforms are set to get Manhood on November 17.

So, whether you’re curious about the procedures, fascinated by the psychology, or simply wondering what happens when bedroom insecurities meet the booming beauty industry, Manhood has plenty to unpack.

Because sure, confidence can be sexy. But maybe the biggest question isn’t how much you’re packing. It’s why you feel you need to pack more in the first place.
