Love Connie Takes on Tinseltown in New Comedy Series

If you tuned in to last week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, you saw that the mini challenge featured a cameo by Love Connie, a spunky, energetic drag queen with retro sensibilities. Love Connie got the Season 11 queens to give serve their best 80s aerobics fish.

And if you’re like me, you’re wondering…how can I get more of Love Connie?

Well—that’s all about to change.

Love Connie is about to embark on a journey—to Hollywood—and it will all happen via her new mockumentary show on WOW Presents Plus called Connie-wood. The show will follow Connie as she seeks Hollywood stardom coming off her life as a broke-down Louisiana pageant queen. After buying a one-way ticket to Tinseltown, Connie finds herself in a new world full of desperation, determination, and dumb luck.

Love Connie is the persona created by John Cantwell, who has been in show business for over 25 years. You might remember Cantwell as the hair stylist in Legally Blonde who is overly excited about the ‘Bend and Snap’. He has also appeared on NBC’s Will & Grace.

Connie-wood premieres on WOW Presents Plus today and will run 6 weekly episodes.

When asked why she’s doing the show, Love Connie said:

Because I was begged. (jokingly) Seriously, or else I wouldn’t have, as I can barely navigate Facebook. I am very excited, and can’t believe it’s all coming together!
