New York City used to be a place where words like “debauchery” were thrown around in the most amazing of ways.
There were endless nightclubs, parties, gatherings and more where jaw-dropping things that went down would never make its way to the dinner table during gatherings with your grandmother.
Does that still exist? Sure. Meh. Not like it used to. This city, which used to thrive on its sexual aspect for years, has become so conservative that the idea of being naughty in such a way has gotten lost amid another Starbucks opening or an annoying family-of-four moving into an area that we helped make trendy (Chelsea especially).
There are still rays of light in all of this. One is where you can walk into a room and feast your eyes on some of the most delicious male specimens this world has to offer. It takes place once a month during Adonis Lounge’s legendary naked party.
Adonis Lounge has been going on for the better part of the 2010 decade. What started as a small idea in Brooklyn eventually became an m4m extravaganza across greater Manhattan. Men would come in droves many nights a week to party and hang with scantily clad guys who exhibited what the meaning of being an Adonis is truly like.
Their naked party takes things to a whole other level outside of the traditional men walking around in booty shorts and dancing on a platform. I first knew about it many years ago when a friend of mine, who was in the adult industry at the time, was the party’s headliner one evening. I’m always intrigued by things like this, so I took my best friend with me and entered the party with an open mind and some dollars in my pocket.
What I saw after walking in still blows my mind to this day. The room was filled with men who only had on a pair of shoes and a glistening smile. Everything else was them in their birthday suit, which was thrilling to see. They came in many colors, sizes (puns intended) and age ranges (20-year-old studs to full-blown muscle daddies) that made this event a dude buffet with many options on the table to enjoy.
The interactions with them were also memorable. You can mingle with the guys but also head towards the back room for a lap dance or two. Some of them don’t want to really chat, they simply just want to get down to business with you in the private area. Others will engage with you and make you feel wanted amid a very crowded space, which can do wonders for someone’s confidence.
Overall this is an event that is keeping the naughty and somewhat gritty aspect of New York City alive. I come from an age range that barely saw this exist in my younger years, so it’s good to see that places like Adonis Lounge are doing what they can to give us something in a sexual manner that is safe but also deliciously debaucherous.
