Looks like ABC is doing just fine without Roseanne Barr.

The network television channel recently announced the season two renewal of Roseanne spin-off The Conners. The series was a solid performer for the network with an average viewership of 9.5 million, and it also became this tv season’s No. 1 new comedy. With such good results, it’s no surprise that a second season has been greenlit.

“We are proud to be continuing the story of the iconic Conners family,” Karey Burke, president ABC Entertainment, said in a statement. “This team is fearless in their willingness to tackle contemporary issues with humor and heart, and I have no doubt they will continue to outdo themselves.”

The spin-off series is almost a mirror image of its predecessor excluding one big difference, the former lead star,

Roseanne was fired from her own show after making a tweet that got major backlash and racism claims. Part of this pushback was due to her faulty response. She first blamed her use of Ambien for the tweet before transitioning to say she didn’t intend to be racist.

These apologies, however, didn’t help Barr to gain back her job. The show was then canceled and repurposed into a series where her character died.

Now in response, Roseanne spoke to the Washington Post to say that she’s still mad at costar Sara Gilbert.

In response to Gilbert turning her back on the former star and tweeting her disapproval of Roseanne, Barr said Gilbert “destroyed the show and my life with that tweet. She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti.”

Meanwhile, Gilbert shared with the post that she thinks, “while I’m extremely disappointed and heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family, and I will always love Roseanne.”
