Tumblr Users Freak Out When It Vanished From App Store.

The only thing I think Tumblr is used for is porn, right ? At least that is what I see my roommate using it for on a nightly basis.  The only times I've been on there, usually late at night before bed, I've seen sexy vines or vids and some great pics, but I was there to read the articles, of course.  But then again, maybe I should subscribe to other things than bros-to-men.

Apparently Tumblr fell down the rabbit hole at the Apple App store and was no where to be found and people were a little scared.

Users of the microblogging platform have been tweeting about how they can't find the iPhone app.

On Tuesday, Tumblr wrote on its own Twitter account: "Some people have had issues with the iOS app logging them out. We're working on it and will update when we have more information."

Business Insider confirmed with Tumblr that the disappearance of the app is linked to the update, meaning Tumblr's Android app is unaffected.

It's also unclear if iOS update is linked to the Tumblr hack that was reported earlier this week. Following the hack, which reportedly took place in early 2013, a database containing more than 65 million Tumblr emails was put up for sale on the darknet for just $150 (£103).

People that have previously downloaded the iOS Tumblr app can download it again in a few simple steps, according to this thread on Reddit.  You should be able to go to Updates > Purchases and still view it though, I think.  – businessinsider.com

So it is a little unclear if current users were having issues, unless they deleted the app and needed to reinstall.  New users were unable to find the free app to download.

But we have to commend Tumblr for halting production until the problem was fixed.  Car companies are still installing Takata air bags in brand new for sale vehicles. WTF?  Maybe Audi and Grindr should take a lesson from Tumblr. If there are major problems, halt production, halt release.  If it is a good product, people will wait for a better version.
