Are Kilts What Men Should Be Wearing? Would You Wear One?

Living in tropical Florida … IT'S DAMN HOT OUT THERE!  It's hot all over the country, but I think I saw the coolest guy in the state yesterday at the grocery store.  It wasn't how he walked or the sunglasses on his head, but as I saw him walk in wearing a kilt, I think I actually said out loud, "I want one of those!"

There are not too many kilt wearing men out there, or maybe I am just missing them.  Besides the apparent grocery store sightings in Wilton Manors, Florida, kilted men appear with their bagpipes for the occasional parade, or some pull them out of storage for a local leather night.  But what about wearing a kilt every day or every other day?

Would you wear a kilt?

Do you agree with the video that men should be wearing skirts and not the women?  God that made sense.  The boys are crowded in there. To help your decision, here's a couple of hot men in kilts I found on the internet.

As a Scot, just let me state for the record, you go commando wearing a kilt!  If you have you have underwear on it then does it becomes a skirt? NO!!  It's a KILT. Wear your KILTS with pride!  It's very insulting for ANYONE to call a kilt a skirt and if you do, you should be ashamed of yourself, your insulting a swathe of Celtic nations from Brittany to Scotland, who's traditional costume is the kilt!

  10. Hi, I’ve been wearing a kilt

Hi, I've been wearing a kilt pretty much everyday for the past year. I wish my job allowed me to wear one while working. At first I was very apprehensive about when and where I would wear it.  99% of the time I get positive remarks. So if you are on the fence about getting one I'd say go for it.. Embrace the freedom..

  11. The only thing that irks me

The only thing that irks me about kilts is when they are not worn correctly.   Top sits at the waist, and the bottom sits anywhere between the top of the kneecap to midway at the kneecap.  Photos one and three are asinine and are not kilts.  More like a dress and a miniskirt.

    • Except that fashion and style

Except that fashion and style are fluid, and much like pants, they are worn at whatever place on your hips, and at whatever length one wants. It is, at is's core, a kilt. One of the premier kilt makers, 21st Century Kilts, in Edinburgh has pioneered the new kilt style, and they are glorious and imminently wearable. I just wish I could afford one.

Pic 1 probably is a TWCK (at least the kilt pin is theirs).  I have one (of my 4). Howie (owner of TFCK) is pioneering a kilt style that sits on the hips, but NO WAY he'd sign off on one that long. Pic 3 looks like a circuit club version from the mid 90s…

    • All three photos wear the kilt too low. It should go around the body near the belly button at the top. Length varies depending on preference, from mid-knee to three inches above knee — but not too short at the pleats in the rear, which is where most accidental exposures take place.

I haven't worn pants for 10 years. Once you wear a kilt it's hard to go back. I have 25 kilts.

Okay, that third pic is a dude in a skirt and is an insult to kilts everywhere, but kilts are definitely a masculine look.
