Do it. Go and kiss the girl.

Harry Styles is in early negotiations to play Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid per a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Mermaid, which is set to begin production in early 2020, has already found its leading lady in singer and actress Halle Bailey who will play Ariel. Others being considered for the film include Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina. It will be directed by Rob Marshall

Harry, 25, got his start on reality television when he and four other aspiring singers (Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne) were put together by Simon Cowell to form the boy band One Direction on The X Factor: UK in 2010. They ended up in 3rd place at the end of the series’ 7th season.

One Direction then became one of the biggest boy bands in history. They reached the top of the charts internationally with hits like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Little Things.”

Harry eventually went solo and released his self-titled debut album in 2017 to generally favorable reviews. It would go on to be a commercial success, selling over 1 million copies alone in the United States.

Harry has transitioned himself into the acting world recently. He made his big screen debut with Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan’s World War II drama that grossed over $526 million worldwide and collected many accolades.

He also tested to be the lead in an Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann but lost out to Austin Butler earlier this week.

Another former reality star, Nyle DiMarco, expressed his interest in playing Prince Eric (or as he called it, DEAF Prince Eric) earlier this month. Fans and celebs, including director Ava Duvernay, supported his idea.

What entertainer do you think would do Prince Eric justice in The Little Mermaid?
