Titus Burgess has his next gig lined up.

Now that Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is over. Many wondered what would be next for Burgess. The Broadway singer and surprise Netflix success became a personality beloved by Western audiences, so a project spotlighting his humor and flair would be best. And it looks like Burgess found the best option.

Not only has the singer released a new album, but he has also signed on to host a new cooking show. Dishmantled is a new series on the streaming service Quibi from the creator of Chopped, the most successful and popular cooking competition show on tv. The new series will be a cooking competition like its sibling show, but this one will be a bizarre twist on the tv genre.

Somewhat like a game on talk shows like Ellen and Jimmy Fallon, competing chefs will be blindfolded and blasted in the face with mystery food dishes. They will then have to figure out what the dish is, what the ingredients are, and how to recreate the dish in a short amount of time.

It’s a “high-octane cooking competition that will literally blow your socks off,” according to doctors.

Honestly, this show sounds messy, ridiculous, and straight-up laughable. And we’re sure it’ll be worth the watch. And having the hilarious Titus Burgess hosting the show will only make it that much more entertaining. It’s like the fact that having Nicole Byer, another Black LGBTQ comedian, hosting Nailed It has helped that show to shine.

But that said, this isn’t it for the Broadway star’s return to TV and streaming. Burgess will join the cast, including Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, and Stanley Tucci, of an animated musical comedy show called Cental Park on Apple’s new streaming service.

In addition, Burgess will be staring in the upcoming Netflix interactive Kimmy Schmidt special. The contents and story of which are heavily under wraps.

So good for Titus Burgess. It seems his future is bright in comedy and the music scene. We look forward to seeing his future work.
