A character on NBC’s Chicago Fire is getting more character development, and specifically as an openly gay man.
Daniel Kyri’s character Darren Ritter was first introduced on the firefighter show in last year’s season. While the character has become a familiar face on the show, he’s only now getting some subtle yet important exploration and development. Namely, by mentioning, while at Lieutenant Christopher Hermann’s bar, that he has a boyfriend.
