Colombian singer Maluma, who has no doubt emerged as one of the biggest male sex symbols over the last couple of years, addressed rumors about him being gay head on during one of his recent Instagram Q&A’s.
“People are stupid, aren’t they?” he said about those allegations. “Yes, that is, how can they say I’m gay?” The 26-year-old followed that up by simply saying, “If I were gay, I would have already spoken about it.”
Maluma also cracked a joke about it all within his Q&A by saying, “The one who said that I am gay, lend me your girlfriend to see how gay I am.” Oh snap!
The “Medellin” singer’s sexuality has been a topic for years due to him being notoriously private about his romantic life. This has brought on speculation about him possibly being gay as a result, although he did admit to being in a relationship with Cuban-Croatian model Natalia Barulich during an interview with Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo in January 2018.
“We have a great time together, we have fun, we love each other, and we also support each other…I think those are the fundamentals,” he said. “It’s the most important thing. Right now, we’re dating. We like what we have, I like her company, and she supports me and loves me, so you’re all seeing me like never before.” The former couple eventually broke up in 2019.
Maluma has also worked with openly gay singers and gay icons like Ricky Martin and Madonna in the past. Ricky and him collaborated on a 2017 track called “Vente Pa’ Ca”. The video for the song has over 1 billion hits on YouTube. They later joined forces in 2019 for Maluma’s song “No Se Me Quita”.
