Congrats are in order for our studly friend Nyle DiMarco! He has landed a starring role in Sundance's new television series called This Close, which is set to premiere on Valentine's Day.
He made the announcement yesterday on his Twitter page, where he also shared that this show makes a huge landmark in entertainment and the deaf communities.
It is Hollywood's first ever series to feature deaf writers, producers, and creators. Show writers, actors creators Shoshannah Stern and Josh Feldman are deaf as well.
The show stars Cheryl Hines, Zach Gilford and Colt Prattes, as well as Oscar-winner Marlee Matlin who is set to make a recurring role on the show.
This Close is based on a series of shorts featured at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival’s Short Form Episodic Showcase. The six-episode half-hour series explores the relationship between best friends Kate (Stern), who is newly engaged, and Michael (Feldman), who is attempting to move on from his ex-fiancé.
