Adam Rippon and Mike Pence have been on a rollercoaster ride of news stories since Rippon qualified for the Winter Olympics (only a month ago).

Afterwards, Rippon shared that he didn’t want Vice President Mike Pence to oversee Team USA in the Winter Olympics, and he wouldn't be visiting the White House either.

Pence officially released a statement saying that Rippon’s assertion of Pence’s homophobic policymaking was “totally false” and that he’d be supporting “all the U.S. athletes.”

Now, there’s even more “he said/he said” going on between the two.

While flying the Vice President and his staff to South Korea for the Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony, a White House official told the press that Pence’s office contacted the Olympic committee to offer a private meeting with him and Rippon.

Then later, Pence’s deputy chief of staff Jarrod Agen denied that a requested meeting was made.

In addition, Pence took to twitter to again deny that he ever supported conversion therapy.

Meanwhile, Rippon is adamant that he doesn’t support Pence, but also that he’s not as obsessed with the situation as Pence seems to be.

“I’m not trying to pick a fight with the vice president of the United States,” Rippon told reporters.

When asked if he had changed his mind about the customary trip to the White House after the games, Rippon replied with a curt no.

“I said no,” he said specifically.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence continues to try to reach out to Rippon.

  1. These politicians will say

These politicians will say anything to get elected into office.  Even Obama at one time was against homosexual marriage.  I think Rippon should have met the VP. Personally, I feel there is a lot of racism and prejudice within the LGBT community.  I think Rippon should focus on this disconnect and polarization within the  LGBT community first, however, I respect his decision to not meet the VP, but I probably would have.

This is an example of the dumbing down of America!  Now Pence is talking about "fake news." as created by his greedy superior. I completely agree with Rippon! Stand up for yourself and your beliefs! Don't succumb to pressures by bullies. Stick to your own agenda. I wouldn't want to meet this bigot either! Good for you, Adam Rippon, and best wishes at the Olympics!!!
