It's been a rough couple of months for Gus Kenworthy, as he tragically lost his rescue pup Beemo unexpectedly back in May from a birth defect. The decorated Olympian adopted her overseas in South Korea while he was competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The 26-year-old has adopted another dog since, but the memory of Beemo continues to live on in his and millions of his fan's hearts. He posted a sweet tribute to her on his Instagram that coincided with a beautiful gift that one of his friends gave him as an early birthday present (he turns 27 on October 1st).
"I can't believe that it's been almost four months since my baby Beemo passed away. I think about her every single day," he said.
"My good friend @goodiepocket gave me the sweetest early birthday gift and he edited together a tribute video for Beemo from the hundreds of videos on my phone. I know a lot of you, whether you met her or not, loved Beemo very much and so I wanted to share the video with you all."
The 6-minute clip, called "Our Borrowed Time with Beemo," shows Gus and his longtime boyfriend Matt Wilkas' journey with their adorable pup that began with the moment they adopted her. It then transitions into all the cute moments they had with her that ends on a truly heartbreaking note.
