Amber Glenn is not merely a Heated Rivalry casual viewer. She is a Heated Rivalry fan. The Olympic figure skater has officially taken her love for the steamy hockey drama from the ice to the ballroom, and frankly, we are living for this crossover.
From Queer Ice to Queer Tango
Glenn, a three-time defending U.S. national champion, has been pretty vocal about her love for the Crave series, which follows hockey rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
The show’s impact has stretched well beyond the hockey rink. Its queer love story has resonated with LGBTQ+ viewers, including athletes who have found something familiar in watching characters wrestle with identity, coming out, and the pressure to hide parts of themselves.
For Glenn, that connection is personal. The openly queer athlete came out in 2019, and she has previously spoken about how much Heated Rivalry means to her.
And apparently, watching it wasn’t enough.

Glenn Had a Tango Up Her Sleeve
Back in July, the competitive figure skater and creator Lena Lemon delivered their own sapphic spin on the Heated Rivalry phenomenon with a figure skating performance set to All the Things She Said. The video was essentially a queer love letter to the series, with the pair channeling the show’s energy while bringing a women-loving-women twist to the story.
So when the 26-year-old teased a Heated Rivalry tribute ahead of Dancing With the Stars‘ September 22 episode, fans already knew something delicious was coming.
They were right.
For “Viral Hits Night,” Glenn and her professional partner, Pasha Pashkov, performed a tango to the Heated Rivalry remix of All the Things She Said. Glenn even teased the performance beforehand, making it very clear that her HR era was nowhere near over.
Basically, Glenn understood the assignment.

And She Brought the Heat
The routine earned the Olympic athlete and Pashkov 21 out of 30, putting them among the night’s top-scoring couples alongside Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach.
But the score almost feels secondary to what made the performance special.
This wasn’t just an Olympian borrowing a viral song. Amber took a queer story that clearly resonated with her and turned it into something distinctly her own.
