News broke today that Project Runway alum, Chris March, has passed away at the age of 56. March was known for his larger-than-life personality and for creating elaborate costumes and wigs for clients around the world.
In 2017, March suffered a debilitating accident that led to a medically induced coma where he struggled to recover. A GoFundMe page started by a friend raised almost $60,000 to assist with March’s medical bills.
Earlier this year fans got an update from March where he shared that he struggled with suicidal thoughts during his difficult health battle.
March shared in a personal note:
In the face of all my setbacks, I try to remain positive—the leg braces are an exciting new tool on my road to recovery. I am trying to get my tracheotomy removed, and I try my best to effect positive change in this facility for myself and all the residents here. I try to add humor, glamour, and a little glitter to my world.
TMZ reported that on Thursday, September 6th, Chris March suffered a heart attack which took doctors and relatives by surprise.
Close friend Andy Cohen shared a heartfelt post about March upon receiving the news:
Chris March joins Mychael Knight and Wendy Pepper in the list of Project Runway standouts who have gone too soon.
March will be remembered for his vivacious laugh and personality and his contributions to the fashion world as a finalist on Season 4 of Project Runway and as the star of Bravo’s Mad Fashion. March’s clients included icons Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Meryl Streep among others.
