His song “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus has now logged a record smashing 19th week atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The legendary music magazine reported the news on Monday, August 12.

Lil Nas’ domination on the 60-plus year chart is nothing short of amazing. He’s been able to hold off many songs from the top spot including Ariana Grande and Social House‘s new track “Boyfriend” which debuted at number 8 this week.

The Georgia native also started collecting trophies over the weekend when he won Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards. He’s up for many more at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday, August 26, including the coveted Video of the Year honor.

Lil Nas continued the celebration for his historic honor on social media by thanking his fans for their support while donning a colorful ensemble.

“OTR” initially broke the record for the longest running Hot 100 single in Billboard history two weeks ago on Monday, July 29. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men‘s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s (featuring Justin Bieber) “Despacito” previously held the honor at 16 weeks apiece.

Lil Nas has been prepping fans for the video release of his next single “Panini” which has already been streamed hundreds of thousands of times.

The song interpolates Nirvana’s classic “In Bloom”. He thanked Kurt Cobain‘s daughter, Frances Bean, for it in a tweet sent out on June 20.
