Nina West And Monet X Change Drop By The View And Give Praise To McCain
If you’re a busybody like I am, you probably have a slew of favorite talk shows. While I need to watch The Wendy Williams Show like normal people have their morning coffee, I take lunchtime breaks and enjoy the view. No, the literal talk show – The View created by heavyweight journalist, Barbara Walters. Everyone has a favorite co-host and mine is often the late Senator John McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain. I’ve mentioned she should be impersonated on RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Snatch Game, appreciated her viewpoint to get me out of a Trump Administration depression, and have gotten into arguments with friends over my love for McCain. She’s sharp tongued, intelligent, and really makes you think rather than light a torch with you to the protest. Today, McCain turned thirty-five-years old and celebrated her birthday on The View minus potential rival, Joy Behar, but with some help from the Drag Race queens.
After receiving a video message from her self-proclaimed crush, Paul Ryan, McCain sped through her birthday episode with some Trump talk, a performance by Shooter Jennings, and eventually a surprise appearance by Drag Race alumni, Nina West and Monet X Change (who I oddly saw yesterday in West Hollywood so that queen must make moves fast!). McCain has been a lifelong supporter of LGBTQ equality and frequents Andy Cohen’s late night talk show and speaks of being a Drag Race fanatic, so without a doubt that the queens would be there to support her. They bring out a cactus cake and even give a shout out to one of the show’s most popular queens, Adore Delano. McCain recently had the queens (plus Detox Icunt) on a digital panel and they wanted to return their thanks for the platform. McCain received a pair of sparkly boots and to much surprise, became an unofficial, official, Ru-Girl when they gifted her with a RuPaul statute. X Change invited the co-hosts to her YouTube talk show and West spoke highly of McCain, believing it was because of her that West is doing voiceover work. McCain finishes her segment telling juggernaut Disney to hire West for voiceover work.
I’m still a little blown away though… drag queens… on daytime television… with a Republican senators daughter (and Whoopi Goldberg). I can’t be happier for all of them to truly shine. In closing, Goldberg invites the queens to co-host with them sometime.
McCain slickly mentions the upcoming series of Celebrity RuPaul’s Drag Race… which is making me kind of think she’s either already filmed her portion or is aiming to be a guest judge on an upcoming season. Safe to say McCain would absolutely take the job!
Let’s all wish a Happy Birthday Meghan! Don’t forget to check out the clip of her surprise below:
