A Georgia family and DelKalb County police are currently on the lookout for the murderer of Frankie “Tyrone” Russell.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Russell, who worked in coding and medical billing for Emory University Hospital, was found dead within his house on October 5 around 9 p.m.

Thanks to the fact that Russell’s home was decked out in surveillance cameras, police have some photos and video of the suspect. This includes the moment he killed Russell.

“They were both in a very relaxed state right before the shots were fired,” said Sergeant Lynn Shuler.

“He was about to grill a meal for whoever it was. He was standing at the table just pouring him a drink and he never saw it coming,” said Detective Doronte Evans.

Thanks to the video surveillance, the police know that Frankie Russell was somewhat acquainted with his murderer. Evans says the two spent an hour in the home before the shooting. The suspect then went through the bedroom in search of some sort of item. The man then left the home and accidentally triggered the garage door alarm. The police then arrived at the scene to find Russell’s body lying in a pool of blood, “with his shorts off and (them) lying on top of him.”

Despite the knowledge that the two were at least lightly acquainted, there’s also evidence that the connection was still new. Investigators believe that Russell had originally picked up the man in question after interacting on a dating app. As such, his real identity is still a mystery.

Due to this, police are still searching for the culprit. They ask that anyone with information contact CrimeStoppers 404-577-8477 or online at www.StopCrimeATL.com.

Meanwhile, the family and loved ones of Frankie Russell desperately wish for justice.

“You thought you were gonna gain something by taking my father’s life when really you didn’t gain anything,” said daughter Ashley Russell. “You took my father’s life over absolutely nothing.”
