After being cancelled by Netflix earlier this year (despite an extremely rabid online fan campaign to save the show), PopTv has picked up Season 4 of One Day At A Time, with a premiere date of March 24th at 9:30 pm ET/PT. The reboot of the 70’s classic follows the Cuban-American Alvarez clan, an immigrant family living and loving in California. With themes of gender, sexuality, coming out, and sobriety weaved through this culturally themed show, the show became a binge favorite for LGBT viewers especially. The premiere will initially follow current television trendsetter Schitt’s Creek, with #ODAAT moving to 9pm starting April 14th.
As the show makes it’s move to more restrictive network television, it will look remarkably different. Not only will it will held to the standard twenty one minute television format, but Gloria Estefan’s updated (and infectious) theme song will be cut to a simple title card.
