Could Jonathan Van Ness be joining Celebrity Big Brother?
The Sun reports that the Queer Eye star might be on the shortlist for another type of reality show. Apparently, the Channel 5 series is looking for talent to take on what could be its final season (at least in this form), and they are knocking on Jonathan Van Ness’s door to do it.
As the Sun reports:
A source said: "Bosses know what a hit Queer Eye has become and everyone's obsessed with Jonathan.
"The show has become an international success and Jonathan would make amazing TV for the show.
"They are desperate to land him for the next series and have told producers to do whatever it takes to get him to sign on the dotted line."
It was revealed earlier that the British version of Celebrity Big Brother is preparing for a major change in order to boost ratings. Ratings for the series have been on a steady decline for years, and a major rework is the only thing that can keep the British show safe from cancellation.
This revaluation was made during the inaugural Creative Cities Convention last week. Channel 5’s director of programming Ben Frow let it slip that the Celebrity Big Brother series won’t be returning “in its current form.”
He also added that Channel 5 will “not be spending the same amount of money” on the show so Endemol Shine, which owns the Big Brother IP, needs to come up with new ways to produce the series or risk it dying away.
While we don’t know what the producers have in store for the classic reality competition show that has several versions around the globe, we do know that this upcoming season may be the last of its kind.
Would you watch it if Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness joined?
