Season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is almost here hennies.
The newest crop of queens will officially make their debut when the show premieres this Thursday, February 28, on VH1.
The cable network already released the first sixteen minutes from episode one, which included the entrances from all the new queens vying for the coveted crown… and one memorable contestant returning for another shot.
Here are five things you need to know before watching the RPDR season premiere.
Miss Vanjie is back! It didn’t come as much of a shock to see Vanessa Vanjie Matteo return to RPDR, given how her time on S10 was cut dramatically short. Her memorable exit was one of the biggest pop culture moments in 2018, enough to make her the breakout star from her season even though she was only on for one episode! She pulls some major comedy during her entrance into season 11 by hiding from the other queens as each of them made their way into the room. Could she go from last place to first place this time around?
What a group! This cast is highly energetic, eclectic and very interesting. The standouts, just from the entrances alone, were Yvie Oddly, Nina West and Silky Nutmeg Ganache, yet all were memorable in their own ways.
Baby drag. New York City’s very own Shuga Cain got cast on the show after only doing drag for a year and a half! We’ve heard this kind of thing before though (Valentina), and the length of your career doesn’t always mean you’ll stick around RPDR that long (Magnolia Crawford, Penny Tration, etc).
It’s Miley Y’All! Miley Cyrus will be the guest judge on the season premiere. She’ll go undercover in the workroom to spy on the new cast of queens competing for $100,000.
What’s the challenge? The first test for the queens is to create signature looks, from materials belonging to former Drag Race legends. Here’s hoping Violet Chachki’s iconic season 8 finale piece is included!
