Welcome to the Green Lantern Era
Lanterns is part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe, which means these Green Lanterns exist in the same cinematic world as David Corenswet’s Superman, Milly Alcock’s Supergirl, and John Cena’s gloriously chaotic Peacemaker.
We could spend all day geeking out over timelines, DC lore, possible crossovers, and which superhero might eventually pop up. But let’s be honest. You did not come here for a lecture on continuity and canon events. You came for the men.

Kyle Chandler Is Having a Moment
Kyle Chandler plays Hal Jordan, the veteran Green Lantern who gets paired with newcomer John Stewart. And apparently, the internet has collectively decided that Chandler was exactly the Hal Jordan we needed.
Fans have been praising his performance, with some calling him the perfect casting choice and others admitting they completely underestimated the decision to cast an older Hal.
Chandler already has a résumé packed with memorable roles, including Friday Night Lights, Bloodline, and Grey’s Anatomy. But watching him suit up as a Green Lantern has apparently unlocked an entirely new level of appreciation.
And honestly? We get it.

Aaron Pierre and Those Arms
Then there is Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.

If you have managed to scroll through social media without encountering at least one extremely appreciative post about Pierre’s physique, congratulations. You have achieved the impossible.
The British actor has been making viewers especially thirsty as the muscular John Stewart, including one particularly memorable appearance in a simple tank top. Technically, he was wearing a shirt. The internet, however, has chosen not to acknowledge that technicality.
Even better, Pierre and Chandler have fantastic chemistry. Their dynamic gives Lanterns a buddy-cop energy, except the cops are intergalactic superheroes and both happen to be extremely easy on the eyes.
And Then There’s Garret Dillahunt
Garret Dillahunt joins the thirst parade as Will Macon, an important character in the series who gets plenty of attention in Episode 4, “The Weenie.” Yes, that is actually the episode title.

Without spoiling too much, Macon catches Hal and John snooping around his property and attempts to intimidate them by stripping down. Because apparently, in the world of Lanterns, threatening superheroes requires taking your clothes off.
Is being ripped a requirement for joining the Green Lantern universe?
