It was revealed yesterday that female porn star August Ames had passed away at the young age of 23. One day prior to her passing, she was involved in a major social media battle where both gay and straight porn stars accused her of posting homophobic tweets regarding the safety of her health as to why she wouldn't perform in a scene with a man who has done gay porn in the past.
The cause of death was not revealed until late yesterday afternoon, where IB Times has reported that August (real name Mercedes Grabowski) died due to suicide.
The Ventura County, Ca. Health Care Agency confirmed Grabowski's death Wednesday evening. "Mercedes Grabowski died of asphyxia due to hanging. Manner is suicide," the agency's public information officer told International Business Times.

It all started when she tweeted that she was not going to have sex with a man who did gay porn in the past and that she care about her health. The nature of that tweet of her was distasteful, there was nee need to be mean publicly;she should have kept it to herself.
Some performers in gay porn felt stigmatised with HIV/AIDS from that tweet and eventually responded to her.
No one demanded sex from her; the people who called her out, many of them heterosexual women by the way, called her out on the unnecessary need to be discriminatory and inflammatory on social media. Even another gay porn actor said all performers sometimes have apprehensions with certain performers, but it's common sense to keep certain things to oneself or withing the circle involved instead of unnecessarily voicing them on social media.
Homophobes keep saying things like "if she didn't want to have sex with gay men it was her right". Gay men don't have sex with women; no gay man demanded to have sex with her or any other woman and there is no tweet (to my knowledge) from any male performer demanding to have sex with her.
I don't take anybody's side on this; just feel compelled to dismiss homophobes who are manipulating her passing to justify homophobia and what's more ridiculous, the idea that gay men supposedly demanded sex with a woman.
