Former Navy chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt, the Tea Party Republican nominee for a Colorado state House seat, sent supporters a letter saying Colorado's openly gay U.S. Congressman Jared Polis, will "join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America."
After catching highly appropriate fire for his comments, Klingenschmitt released a video "apology" that is textbook NON-apology. You know, using the we're-never-going-to-agree-you're-evil-scum-and-I'm-God's-chosen rhetoric and the WTF change-of-subject (the ALS ice bucket challenge? Really?). He also claims “some Democrats do not have a sense of humor”–presumably because beheading people is hilarious–and they don't understand "hyperbole." You kinda have to watch the video to believe it, so scroll down and brace yourself.
Actually, Rev. Klingenschmitt (who BTW was involuntarily discharged from the Navy), we totally get hyperbole. It's the existence of bat-sh*t crazy like yours that what we don't understand.
