Michael B. Jordan can play in our backyard anytime he wants. Preferably with the lawn freshly watered, the sun shining, and absolutely no shirt required.
The 39-year-old actor is serving some seriously premium eye candy in Vogue’s October 2026 issue, where he trades the usual red carpets and movie premieres for the decidedly more domestic setting of a lush green backyard. And yes, there is manspreading. There are flexed arms. There are rock-hard abs. There is even lawn mowing.
Basically, Jordan has somehow turned doing yard work into a full-blown thirst trap.
The styling keeps things relatively neutral, letting the greenery and, naturally, Jordan himself do most of the visual heavy lifting. It is an unexpectedly gorgeous portrait of an actor who has spent the better part of the past decade in perpetual work mode.
From Oscar Winner to Potential Anime Guy
Jordan’s workload is not exactly a secret. Earlier this year, he took home the Best Actor Oscar for playing twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. The Academy lists Jordan as the winner for the role, while Sinners also won Best Original Screenplay and several other awards at the 98th Oscars.
Now, however, Jordan seems to be contemplating something almost radical for Hollywood: slowing down.
Speaking to Vogue, Jordan explained that much of his relentless work ethic has been about taking care of his family. “Once they’re good I can start living a little,” he said.
And apparently, “living a little” could involve stepping away from acting for a while and diving deeper into one of his longtime interests: anime.
“I’ll probably take the rest of next year off,” the 39-year-old told Vogue, adding that the time could give him room for “reflecting and processing” after years of constantly moving. He even joked that he might “quit it all and make anime the rest of my life.”
Honestly? From Oscar winner to anime enthusiast is quite the career arc.

But First, Thomas Crown
Before the actor disappears into an anime-shaped sabbatical, there are still two reboots in the works: Miami Vice and The Thomas Crown Affair.

Jordan stars as the titular Thomas Crown in the upcoming reimagining, while also serving as director and producer. Vogue reports that he is currently finishing post-production before moving on to Miami Vice where he stars as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs, originally played by Philip Michael in 1984 to 1990 and by Jamie Foxx in the 2006 movie remake.
So yes, Jordan may eventually take a breather. But until then, we have a Vogue spread, a new movie, an Oscar, and several opportunities to appreciate a man who somehow makes mowing the lawn look like an Olympic sport.
The grass really is greener on Jordan’s side.
