November is clearly not interested in letting us have a quiet month. Between sapphic thrillers, gay romantic drama, complicated relationships, and enough television chaos to keep us indoors until December, the watchlist is looking particularly generous.

Nov 5 – Black Doves Season 2
Ben Whishaw’s Sam is back, which means we can once again enjoy a character who manages to be both a highly capable assassin and a man with a complicated love life. Honestly, the range.

Keira Knightley also returns as Helen, the spy caught between her work for the Black Doves and her increasingly complicated personal life. This time, Helen and Sam are pulled back together as dangerous plots threaten the people around them. The new season also brings in Ambika Mod and Neve Campbell, giving the already impressive cast even more reason to keep watching.
The second season arrives on Netflix on November 5. If you missed the first season, consider this your invitation to catch up before the next round of secrets, violence, and emotional damage begins. Netflix has the season details and release information here.
Nov 6 – It Gets Worse
If your twenties have involved bad dates, questionable career choices, and wondering whether adulthood was supposed to feel this exhausting, It Gets Worse might hit a little too close to home.

Created by and starring comedian Leo Reich, the six-part comedy follows three university best friends dealing with humiliating jobs, nonexistent love lives, and the general disappointment of trying to become functioning adults. The cast also includes Emily Fairn, Olive Gray, Sean Delaney, Dane Williams, India Mullen, and John Tothill, with Andrew Scott among the guest stars.
Yes, Andrew Scott is part of the attraction here. All six episodes become available on Paramount+ in the U.S. on November 6, exclusively on the Premium plan. Prepare for a comedy that understands life doesn’t always get better just because you finally have a job. Paramount+ announced the premiere and cast.
Nov 6 – Heated Rivalry Season 1 Hits U.S. Theaters
Some romances deserve a big screen, and Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are getting theirs. The first season of Heated Rivalry is heading to U.S. theaters for a special screening event beginning November 6.

The story follows rival hockey players Shane (Hudson Williams) and Ilya (Connor Storrie), whose competitive relationship develops into something considerably more complicated. The theatrical event gives fans a chance to revisit the six-episode season, with screenings arranged in pairs across participating cinemas.
Regal’s event runs from November 6 through November 30, with tickets listed at $9.99 for the paired screenings. Check participating theaters for dates and showtimes. Because if there’s one romance worth revisiting on a big screen, it’s these two. Regal has the screening details here.
Nov 6 – Club Kid
Jordan Firstman is taking us into New York’s nightlife with Club Kid, a film that looks ready to mix late nights, complicated family dynamics, and the kind of personal revelations that can ruin a perfectly good party.

Firstman writes, directs, and stars as Peter, a hard-partying club promoter whose life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers he has a 10-year-old son, Arlo, played by Reggie Absolom. Cara Delevingne and Diego Calva also appear in the film.
The premise alone offers plenty of room for messy decisions and emotional complications. Peter’s nightlife-centered existence is about to collide with a responsibility he probably wasn’t planning to add to his calendar. A24 brings Club Kid to theaters on November 6. A24’s official film page has the details.
Nov 6 – La Bola Negra
If you’re looking for something with a little more history and artistic ambition, La Bola Negra deserves a place on your watchlist.

From Spanish filmmaking duo Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, the film connects three stories across different periods of Spanish history, exploring queer identity, desire, and the lives of men whose experiences have been pushed to the margins. The project also draws on the legacy of Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca and his unfinished work.
The film features Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Milo Quifes, Penélope Cruz, and Glenn Close. Its theatrical release is staggered, so November 6 applies only to participating U.S. cinemas rather than every theater nationwide. Netflix has also announced a December 2 streaming date. Check Netflix’s city-by-city theatrical schedule before making plans.
Nov 13 – Bitter Christmas
Pedro Almodóvar’s Bitter Christmas brings together two stories set in different years, with Elsa, an advertising director in 2004, and Raúl, a screenwriter and director in 2026, at the center of the film’s shifting narrative.

The two timelines are connected through a story that gradually reveals how personal experiences, relationships, and the act of turning life into art can become tangled. It’s an Almodóvar film, so expect complicated emotions and characters whose private lives are rarely as straightforward as they might like.
The film opens in New York and Los Angeles on November 13, before expanding nationwide on November 25. So, depending on where you live, you may have to wait a little longer to get your holiday-season dose of Almodóvar. Sony Pictures Classics has the official synopsis and release information.
Nov 20 – Yellowjackets Season 4
The girls are still dealing with the consequences of surviving the wilderness, and somehow, things are not getting any less disturbing.

Yellowjackets returns for its fourth and final season, bringing the story of the survivors closer to its conclusion. In the past timeline, rescue finally draws closer, but making it out alive doesn’t mean the secrets and horrors of the wilderness will stay buried. In the present, the survivors are back home and dealing with the consequences of everything it took to get there.
The series has built a loyal audience with its mix of survival horror, psychological tension, and complicated relationships. Its final season premieres November 20 on Paramount+. Paramount has released the final-season announcement and teaser.
Nov 20 – Elsinore
Andrew Scott is giving us another reason to clear our schedules. In Elsinore, he plays actor Ian Charleson, best known for Chariots of Fire, in a film centered on Charleson’s determination to perform Hamlet at the National Theatre while confronting his own mortality.

The story looks at the final chapter of Charleson’s life and the personal and professional challenges surrounding his return to the stage. For anyone who appreciates a serious performance with plenty of emotional weight, this one deserves attention.
Elsinore begins its U.S. theatrical run in select theaters on November 20, before expanding into additional markets over the Thanksgiving holiday and throughout December. Focus Features has confirmed the North American release and shared details about the film.
Nov 25 – Blade Runner 2099
Hunter Schafer is stepping into the Blade Runner universe, and that’s reason enough to pay attention.

Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the series follows Cora, a fugitive who has spent much of her life assuming different identities. When she takes on one final identity as a Blade Runner, she becomes entangled in a dangerous mission alongside Olwen, a Replicant approaching the end of her life.
The sci-fi world of Blade Runner has never been particularly cheerful, so expect plenty of questions about identity, humanity, and what it means to be alive. All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 premiere on Prime Video on November 25. Amazon has shared the series announcement and details.
Nov 26 – The Hunting Wives Season 2
If you thought the first season had enough secrets, affairs, and small-town trouble to last a lifetime, The Hunting Wives is apparently not finished with us.

Sophie and Margo are no longer on the best of terms, but old secrets and new enemies push them back into each other’s orbit. Their relationship has never exactly been a model of healthy communication, and the new season promises more of the tension and dangerous games that made the first season such an addictive watch.
The second season arrives on Netflix on November 26. If you enjoy watching people make spectacularly questionable decisions while looking like they have everything under control, this one belongs on your list. Netflix has the Season 2 cast and release details.
A Watchlist Worth Staying In For
November may be giving us shorter days, but it certainly isn’t short on viewing options. Whether you’re here for queer romance, complicated women, Andrew Scott, or a little beautifully executed chaos, there’s something worth adding to the queue. Just don’t blame us if your November plans suddenly involve staying home.
