If there is one thing Heated Rivalry fans know how to do, it is turn one tiny piece of information into a full-blown investigation.

So when Dylan Walsh—the actor who plays Shane Hollander’s dad, David—casually revealed some potentially major details about the show’s upcoming season in a Cameo video, fans immediately went into detective mode.
Someone get Dylan a spoiler embargo
Walsh has been making custom videos for fans on Cameo since 2020, but he’s currently taking a break from the platform after one particular video went viral for reasons that had considerably less to do with birthday greetings and considerably more to do with Heated Rivalry secrets.

In the video, Walsh said:
“Getting ready to go back up to Canada to shoot some more episodes, so I think we’re doing 12 this time,”
Twelve episodes?
That would be quite the plot twist, considering creator Jacob Tierney previously indicated that season two would be six episodes, following the format of the first season.

“I don’t need to do 10. I would always rather tighten the belt than get loosey-goosey,”
Tierney told the Los Angeles Times.
“I would rather be like, ‘Let’s see how much story we can pack into these episodes.'”
Naturally, fans immediately started asking the important questions: Is season two secretly twice as long as we thought? Are seasons two and three being filmed back-to-back? Or did Walsh simply reveal something he wasn’t supposed to?
The Cameo has been de-Cameo’d
After the clip started making the rounds, fans noticed that Walsh’s Cameo page was suddenly unavailable for personalized videos until August 7, 2027. Which, in internet years, is forever. His profile currently carries a message from Walsh explaining the situation:
“Stepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble.”
And Heated Rivalry fans, naturally, immediately adopted him.
People online have been demanding that Cameo “free my boy Dylan,” suggesting a petition to restore his account, and dubbing him “our real life hayden pike.” The comparison is particularly hilarious because the whole situation mirrors a major detail from the story that season two is expected to draw from.
Life imitates The Long Game
Season two of Heated Rivalry is expected to focus on The Long Game, the sequel to Rachel Reid’s novel Heated Rivalry. In that story, Shane Hollander’s best friend Hayden Pike accidentally posts sensitive information in a video for a Cameo-style platform—and the video goes viral.
So, yes: the actor playing Shane’s dad may have accidentally found himself living through a very Heated Rivalry-coded version of events. You genuinely couldn’t write it better.
And then there are the Hudson Williams photos
As if the fandom needed another distraction, new/old unseen photos of Hudson Williams from a Peloton shoot have also surfaced. The photos show Williams in a gym setting, dressed in white athletic wear and posing around the studio.
And considering the collective internet thirst surrounding Heated Rivalry, it is perhaps unsurprising that the photos have already become their own event.
Because apparently, while Dylan Walsh is busy learning that Cameo is not a safe space for production secrets, the rest of us are being given completely different reasons to stare at our screens. It’s called balance.
The fandom has plenty to obsess over
Between the accidental spoiler, the mysterious episode count, the Hayden Pike parallels, and the resurfaced Hudson Williams photos, Heated Rivalry fans have somehow managed to get an entire offseason’s worth of content in one go.
Whether Walsh revealed that season two really has 12 episodes—or inadvertently confused multiple seasons—remains to be seen. But one thing is already clear: Heated Rivalry fandom will turn absolutely anything into an investigation.
A Cameo video? Evidence. A missing Cameo account? Suspicious. A man in gym clothes? Breaking news. Honestly, we’d expect nothing less.
