Trust the Man is assembling a seriously exciting cast. Gay icons Victor Garber, Jonathan Groff, and Angus O’Brien are joining forces for the new war thriller, with LGBTQ ally Daniel Radcliffe also stepping into the mix.
Honestly, that cast alone is enough to make us sit up and pay attention.
A War Story With a Dangerous Connection
According to Deadline, Trust the Man follows an ambitious Army Intelligence officer who is assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past during the Vietnam War.
But this isn’t simply a story about surveillance and interrogation.
As the investigation intensifies, the boundary between loyalty and obsession begins to blur, eventually pulling the two men into a dangerous and uncontrollable connection. And yes, we are already very curious about that connection.
The premise gives Groff and O’Brien a particularly intriguing setup, placing the two actors at the center of a story where trust, loyalty, obsession, and danger appear destined to collide.
Angus O’Brien Is Back in Uniform
For fans of Angus O’Brien, Trust the Man also brings some particularly welcome news. We last saw O’Brien in the abruptly canceled fan-favorite Boots, and now we’re getting to see him in uniform again. We’ll happily take it.
After Boots left fans wanting more, seeing O’Brien take on another role that puts him in military gear feels like exactly the kind of comeback moment we were hoping for. And this time, he’s sharing the screen with a very impressive collection of talent.
Meanwhile, Victor Garber can currently be seen on the Hulu series Not Suitable for Work, with Netflix’s Eloise also coming up.

Groff and Radcliffe Reunite
Then there’s Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe, giving Trust the Man another reason to get excited about the project. Groff, who was recently named one of Time‘s most influential people of 2026, reunites with Radcliffe after the pair starred together in the Tony Award-winning revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along.

With Garber, Groff, O’Brien, and Radcliffe all in the same project, the cast is stacked in a way that makes Trust the Manparticularly tempting for gay audiences.
We don’t know exactly what their on-screen dynamic will look like yet, but the ingredients are certainly there.
For now, we’ll be keeping our eyes firmly on Trust the Man.
