New York singer-songwriter Dan Manjovi has been making beautiful music in the city for years. The out and proud musician recently upped his profile, though, after teaming up with another much talked-about out artist, director Lee Daniels.

Nearly a year ago Daniels gave Manjovi the task of creating an original song for his upcoming film. Well, that little film turned into the Oscar-nominated movie everyone was talking about—Precious.

We chatted with Dan about his whirlwind of a year, hitting up Oscar parties and his next big project, a musical! Check out our interview with Dan over in Web Exclusives here.

We had the chance to check out the wonderfully talented and cute Little Boots at her L.A. show the other night, and we left even more in love then before! We actually caught up and chatted with Miss Boots, which we'll be bringing you exclusively online here in a few days, but if you have the chance to see this little powerhouse in person, DO IT!

She ran through most of the tracks off her debut album, just out in the States (we're living for "Earthquake" right now!). Dance/electronic music is always a little iffy when it comes to translating from the studio to the stage, but she nails it. A live band, insane light show and Boots' hot vocals (which you can get a great taste over during the acoustic set) make for a perfect show.

The cute boys...

The story of Mississippi teen Constance McMillen has reached fever pitch as the national GLBT community's outrage over the cancellation of her school's prom continues to grow. Earlier today McMillen appeard on the CBS Early Show alongside her ACLU representation to discuss the discrimination she's faced at the hands of her school district.

Perhaps taking a cue from some cleverly-disguised homophobic supporters of DADT, former German football manager Rudi Assauer said gays don’t belong in football  – for our own good and protection.

"Perhaps [gays] are okay in other sports but not in football.

"If a player came to me and said he was gay I would say to him: 'You have shown courage'. But then I would tell him to find something else to do.

"That's because those who out themselves always end up busted by it, ridiculed by their fellow players and by people in the stands. We should spare them these witch hunts."

Naturally, European GLBT rights groups are all over these horrific statements which some have labeled “beneath contempt.”

San Francisco Mayor and GLBT ally Gavin Newsom is expected to announce his latest political ambition this afternoon.

According to the NY Times:

The on-again, off-again political ambitions of Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco are expected to take another turn on Friday with an announcement of his candidacy for lieutenant governor of California.

For the less glamorous No. 2 position, Mr. Newsom’s chief opponent in the primary in June would be Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who has been attacking Mr. Newsom as indecisive. On Wednesday, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa— who was once considered a potential gubernatorial candidate and has had a friendly working relationship with Mr. Newsom — endorsed Ms. Hahn, illustrating...

The wait for the "Telephone" music video from Lady Gaga and Beyonce is finally over, and I've gotta say it was worth a few months of teasers. If you can overlook moments of product placements, the Sapphic-sporting, rumor-tackling, Beyonce + Gaga extravaganza is like an early St. Patrick's Day present for the gays!

What do you think of the mini-movie/music-video?

Smucker's Stars On Ice has refused to allow Johnny Weir to participate in its upcoming tour (full of national, world and Olympic champs) because the skater is found to be "not family friendly."

Hmm, yet 8-year-olds love them some Miley, Gaga and Twilight...
